Christo paremus cantica mixed voices

Christus paremus cantica was written to be a compulsory piece in the Certamen Nacional de Nanas y Villancicos “Villa de Rojales”. This work celebrates the birth of the Lord. Being written for a choral competition, the work has some vocal pitfalls to see how well the choirs are able to cope with them. Section B consists of a more melodic texture, accompanied by the rest of the voices, contrasting with the rest of the work, which is more energetic in character. The work is written for both mixed and equal voices.

Christo paremus cantica, in excelsis, ¡Gloria!

When Christ was born of Mary free, in Bethleem in that fair city. Angels sang there, with mirth and glee. Glory be to God in the highest.

Let us prepare a song for Christ, Glory in heaven!

When Christ was born of Mary free, in Bethleem in that fair city. Angels sang there, with mirth and glee. Glory be to God in the highest.
