Te siento en mí, Torrevieja

Te siento en mí, Torrevieja, is a habanera dedicated to the Nubah Choir and its director Alberto Palacín. It evokes the longing that sailors feel when they leave their homeland. In spite of that longing, beautiful memories remain inside. It has been a premiere work in the 69th edition of the International Choral Contest of Habaneras and Polyphony from Torrevieja, where Nubah won the prize of the public, 2nd prize of Polyphony and 3rd prize of Habaneras.

Allá en la arena,
en la Cala del Moro,
mirando el cielo
veo gaviotas pasar.
Y me pregunto
si pueden olvidar
el bello rostro
de tu azul mirar.

Tu suave brisa
y tu verde palmar
junto a las rocas
Contemplan tu dulce cantar.
Torrevieja, amor,
de mi alma,
que tengo que partir.
No te voy a olvidar.

Te siento en mí, Torrevieja,
al compás de una habanera.
Allá donde esté
No olvidaré
Tu olor a sal.
Te canto esta habanera
evocando aquella sirena
que me hizo soñar
con tu luz.

Las olas mecen,
entre el dulce murmullo,
a los veleros
que se escuchan marchar.
Y me pregunto
si dejan de añorar
la hermosa tierra
de sol y mar.

Surcando mares
entre las melodías
que rememoran
la nostalgia en mi corazón
Torrevieja, amor,
de mi alma,
que tengo que partir.
No te voy a olvidar.

Te siento en mí, Torrevieja,
al compás de una habanera.
Allá donde esté
No olvidaré
Tu olor a sal.
Te canto esta habanera
evocando aquella sirena
que me hizo soñar
con tu luz.

Te siento en mí, Torrevieja,

There on the sand,
in the Cala del Moro,
looking at the sky
I see seagulls passing by.
And I wonder
if they can forget
the beautiful face
of your blue gaze.

Your gentle breeze
and your green palm grove
by the rocks
Contemplate your sweet singing.
Torrevieja, love,
of my soul,
I have to leave.
I will not forget you.

I feel you in me, Torrevieja,
To the rhythm of a habanera.
Wherever I am
I won’t forget
Your smell of salt.
I sing you this habanera
evoking that siren
that made me dream
of your light.

The waves sway
amidst the sweet murmur
the sailboats
that can be heard leaving.
And I wonder
if they stop longing
the beautiful land
of sun and sea.

Sailing the seas
among the melodies
that recall
the nostalgia in my heart
Torrevieja, love,
of my soul,
I have to leave.
I will not forget you.

I feel you in me, Torrevieja,
To the rhythm of a habanera.
Wherever I am
I won’t forget
Your smell of salt.
I sing you this habanera
evoking that siren
that made me dream
of your light.

I feel you in me, Torrevieja,
